Jays on a Hot Streak?

Since the all-star break, the Jays are on a little hot streak. 7-4 since the break, and everyone is looking strong. Burnett is pitched well last night against the Rays, and i'm thinkin Halladay will pitch one hell of a game tongiht. Scott Richmond has to have a strong major league debut on Wednesday, as he is the final pitcher to face against the leading Rays in the 3 game series. This is prolly the biggest series the Jays face, and need to take 1 more of the 2 to win the series.

August - biggest month of the Jays season. starting off they travel to Texas (2nd in West, 54-52) for a 3 game series, then back at the Dome to host Oakland (3rd in West, 55-52) for a 4 game series, then Cleveland (5th in Central, 46-58) and head to Detriot (3rd in central, 53-52) before the HUGE part of August begins. 14 games against, well not the best, but not the worst teams and they need to take 10 or 11 of those 14 games, take all that momentum and confidence for the 15 games against the East competition and at least take 11-12 games to have a chance at making playoffs.

With Vernon Wells is on the 15 day DL, and Aaron Hill put onto a 60 Day DL, the Jays need to have some strong bats. Lets look at the pitching to start. Since the all-star break, Burnett seems to be the man on the mound ofr the Jays, going 2-1 in his 3 starts, Halladay has 1 loss in his only start since the break, Parash has 2 No Decisions in his 2 starts, Litsch is 0-1 with one start, Marcum is 0-1 with a No Decision in 2 starts, and Purcey is 1-0 with a start, and now Richmond is coming in to try and so some damage and stay up in the Show for a little while. All of the pitchers need to some more intensity with the remaining games, more strikeouts, lower the ERA and win games.

Now onto defence. With wells out, Rios playing center, Cito should have Lind playing in right, and Inglett in left, why do I think this? cause there both young, its crunch time, let them learn and develop now, and then when they do have pressure on them in the playoffs, they shine. and also Mench and Wilkerson are plugs in tha feild. Johnny Mac and Marco Scutaro are just amazing playin together, plays that are high-light reel every night pretty much, so keep J-Mac at short, and Scutaro at 2nd, 1st is kinda up in the air, you got either Overbay, who is just a plug 8 out of 10 times up to bat, and not even the best baseman, and Stairs, who I think should just keep at DH and hope he start hitting a ball. At 3rd you got Rolen. Now for the catching, make Zaun the backup, he doesnt have the hitting power or arm like Barajas, and when Zaun was on the DL, Roddy was the best hitter for the games, going an average 2 for 3 at the plate in those games. Keep Rod in the game.

Overall, the Jays need to have a strong August, and this month could either make them, or break them. And im hopin for it to make them, make them right into the post season.
